The reality facing the youths from families with disabilities
As is testified by word of mouth among youths, the uncertainty about the future is growing. Facing the actual uncertainties and public prejudice, the youths from families with disabilities struggle with poor educational environment, worse employment, and ineffectual welfare policies.
Why Youth Forum?
This is an era that lays great store on an individual’s decision to participate more in political process and decision-making. And the disabled youths’ participation in political process and decision-making makes the ABC in protecting the rights of the disabled.
Youth Forum goes with you.
Youth Forum will collect the thoughts and inputs from the youths from families with disabilities and deliver to the National Assembly, the Republic of Korea government, the press etc. their worries and thoughts as well as our policy discourse and suggested solutions.
In this era of failed communication in which even some of the youths dismiss instead of listening to the voices of the youths from the families with disabilities as the socially disadvantaged, Youth Forum wants to serve as a platform for communication among youths promoting social participation.
With a view to raising the quality of life for the youths from South Korean families with disabilities, Youth Forum would like to create beneficiary-oriented policies and upgrade the relevant legal system. With this, we want to empower the lives of the youths from South Korean families with disabilities.
Opting out of the passive stance that seeks temporary public discussion on or solutions delivered by others to issues which cannot be easily solved by individual youths from families with disabilities such as employment, education, and discrimination, Youth Forum wants to create a venue in which blind spots are eliminated with the support of collective intelligence.
